About Mary E-A. K. Remaniak

Mary Karol is my name and I took my first breath in 1990.

I've been writing ever since I knew how to read, but the first poem that I have written down dates to 2001 at age 11. I'd written music starting at age 9 and the first story that I still have about 10. My inspiration is drawn from my life, the lives of those around me, my personal beliefs, and my Catholic Faith.

I am the oldest of 8 children and originally hail from Maryland. Many of my poems have been published in various anthologies over the past few years.

I'm usually described as weird or crazy, but I can be very serious, calm, and reflective by turns as well as hyper, goofy, and superficial. I'm pretty much just your average girl-next-door with a desire to bring change to the world through the thoughts and ideas in her head that she puts into writing.

to voice the silent emotions felt but never expressed, to bring beauty from otherwise painful or distant memories, to see the grace in the everyday, to go deeper than appearances and reach te heart...this is what my poems are intended to do.
